CASSIE PATTEN’S FRONT CRAWL WORKSHOP
AT QUEENSFORD LAKES OPEN WATER SWIM

We are hugely excited to be teaming up with Cassie Patten to bring you another SwimQuest Skills workshop!

This is an invaluable opportunity to brush up your front crawl technique with advice from Olympic Open Water Medallist Cassie Patten. Cassie is hugely skilled at breaking down the front crawl stroke into 4 easy-to-digest parts. The first half of the session will be a land-based seminar, in which Cassie explains her approach to the stroke, how to break it down for yourself and build it back up again.

In the second half of this session, you will be given the opportunity to put your new movements and knowledge into practice as we split into groups and try out Cassie’s tips.

This session is suitable for all ability levels, however we advise you should have some open water experience and be able to swim 100m comfortably without stopping (in any stroke). The group will be divided into ability groups.

Free parking is available at the venue.

TIMINGS:

10.30am Welcome and introduction
11am Front crawl seminar delivered by Cassie Patten (please note we will be outdoors!)
12-1pm Open water skills, divided into groups with the opportunity to put new skills inro practice in the water, supervised by SwimQuest guides and Cassie
1pm onwards – time to grab lunch, a chat and a post swim drink at the on-site Cafe!

• IMPORTANT: warm & wet weather gear – due to COVID guidelines, we will be listening to the seminar outdoors regardless of what Mother Nature throws at us!

ABOUT CASSIE:

In addition to winning bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Cassie is a double world silver medallist and cup winner and European Champion. Since retiring Cassie coaches others to swim, alongside a career as a sports commentator.
