White Nights Estonia

Dates: Mon 22- Sun 28 June 2026
Price: £1,769

Under the glow of the White Nights, Estonia showcases emerald forest lakes, glassy rivers and smoke sauna experiences - a mesmerising, deeply atmospheric open-water destination waiting to be discovered.

Estonia, a quietly captivating country on the edge of the Baltic Sea, is one of Europe’s most undiscovered open-water swimming destinations. During the summer White Nights, daylight lingers almost endlessly, bathing forests, lakes and coastlines in a soft northern glow. Estonia is defined by its wild simplicity: forest-dark lakes and deeply rooted sauna culture. This trip showcases the best of Estonia with a 'dip and explore' format. Come to immerse yourself in nature and the Estonian way of life.

IS THIS WEEK FOR ME?

This trip is a Dip and Explore experience, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful variety of swimming and sauna experiences. Swims are short in length but never rushed in time. Expect lake, sea and river swimming, alongside deep immersion in Estonia’s sauna culture. Hosted by SwimQuest guides and our local Estonian partners, this is an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience, thoughtfully curated and deeply connected to place.

On this trip we spend three nights in northern Estonia and four nights in Southern Estonia. All transportation is included.

SOLE USE

Twin or double share rooms are allocated as standard. If you wish to have your own private room / cabin for the duration of the trip, a £190 supplement applies.

3 nights at Villa Pillapalu

Villa Pillapalu (newly open June 2026) is located 50km from Tallinn, among beautiful Estonian forests and lakes.  This is a stunning base from which to start our Estonian adventures.

3 nights at the REMOTENOW boutique lodges

For the latter part of the week, we travel south to stay at RemoteNow. RemoteNow's eight cone-shaped cabins are located in the forests of Southern Estonia, near a lake, and are arranged to provide a pristine nature experience. Each cabin sits on a 2-3-meter layer of peat, creating a unique "floating" experience, and the cabins are connected by picturesque boardwalks.

DAY ONE – Arrival in Estonia & Forest Saunas

Our journey begins in Tallinn, where we head into the Estonian countryside for our first three nights at Villa Pillapalu Hotel (opening June 2026). Set deep in nature, this peaceful retreat is the perfect introduction to Estonia’s wild, calming landscapes.

In the afternoon, we ease into the week with a guided sauna experience at Villa Pillapalu’s 'BogSpa' -a deeply grounding introduction to Estonia’s rich sauna culture. As evening falls, we gather for a relaxed dinner together, to get to know each pother and discuss the week ahead.

DAY TWO – Bog Shoes, Forest Lakes & Iglu Saunas

After breakfast, we head out for a memorable bog-shoe hike, exploring Estonia’s peatlands and forest landscapes. Along the way, we enjoy wild swims in forest lakes, with time to float, soak and connect with this unique environment.

Later, we stop at the Kõrvemaa Hiking Centre for a warming lunch before spending the afternoon at the Kõrvemaa Iglu Sauna. Here, we enjoy two hours of sauna and swimming, alternating heat and cold in one of Estonia’s most atmospheric sauna settings.

DAY THREE – Waterfalls, Coastlines & the Baltic Sea

Following breakfast, we travel to Lahemaa National Park for a scenic hike to Jägala Waterfall, Estonia’s widest waterfall, where we have the opportunity to swim beneath the cascading water. Lunch is taken locally before we continue to the coast for a coastal walking hike and wild swimming in the Baltic Sea.

In the evening, we enjoy dinner together, followed by a private sauna session - a wonderful opportunity to relax and reflect after a full day of exploration.

DAY FOUR – Journey South & Arrival at RemoteNow

After breakfast, we travel south (approximately 1 hour 40 minutes) to South Estonia, breaking the journey with a lunch stop and swim at Lake Saadjärv.

In the afternoon, we arrive at RemoteNow, a collection of beautiful boutique nature lodges set in a remote landscape of forests and lakes. We’re welcomed with drinks and snacks, and hear the inspiring story of how the hosts transformed an abandoned farm into a place of deep connection with nature.

The afternoon is spent swimming and sauna-ing at RemoteNow, followed by a dinner made from local forest produce. We settle into our boutique lodges for the night.

DAY FIVE – White Nights & Midnight Swimming

We begin the day with an early morning swim in the lake, an invigorating and peaceful way to start the day, followed by breakfast.

Today we explore two contrasting lakes - one dark and peaty, the other crystal clear, experiencing the striking diversity of Estonia’s waters. After lunch at Ilmaveere Restaurant, we visit Setomaa for a swim at Obinitsa Lake, an area rich in cultural heritage.

Dinner is again prepared using local forest produce, and as night approaches - or rather, almost doesn’t - we head out for a midnight swim. Under the glow of Estonia’s White Nights, we swim in the lake as floating candles and lanterns create a truly magical, otherworldly atmosphere.

DAY SIX – Rivers, Smoke Saunas & Deep Relaxation

Another morning swim sets the tone for the day, followed by breakfast. We then enjoy a river swim (conditions permitting) before lunch at the much-loved Tillu Bakery.

The afternoon is dedicated to one of Estonia’s most treasured traditions: the smoke sauna ritual at Mooska Smoke Sauna. Later, we continue the relaxation with an evening sauna session, combining bog sauna, Finnish sauna and a hot tub beneath the open sky.

Dinner is once again crafted from local forest produce, and we return to our boutique lodges for a restful night.

DAY SEVEN – Final Swim & Departure

Our final morning begins, fittingly, with one last lake swim, followed by breakfast. We then depart for Tallinn, carrying home memories of endless light, wild water, deep warmth and the quiet magic of Estonia.

GETTING THERE

The trip begins and ends at Tallinn Airport (TLL), Estonia’s main international airport, which is well connected to cities across Europe and beyond.

The trip starts at 2pm.

Arriving in Tallinn

Guests should plan to arrive in Tallinn by 2pm on 22 June. There are direct flights to Tallinn from many European cities, and easy one-stop connections from further afield via major hubs such as Helsinki, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Riga.

For guests travelling from the UK, there are regular direct flights from London (including Stansted, Luton and Gatwick), with a flight time of approximately 3 hours.

We recommend booking flights that arrive late morning or early afternoon to allow time for our scheduled group transfer from the airport to our first accommodation.

Departing Tallinn

The trip concludes on 28 June, with a group transfer returning to Tallinn Airport in time for onward flights (we advise booking flights from 11.30am onwards).
