Main Focus

This week is for anyone who wants to be a stronger, more efficient front crawl swimmer.
Set against the dramatic volcanic landscape of Lanzarote, you’ll spend a week at the legendary Club La Santa – the world’s greatest playground for active people – working with Olympic medallist Cassie Patten to unlock real, lasting improvements in your front crawl.
Whether you’re fairly new to front crawl, or an intermediate swimmer who has always wondered why it feels harder than it should, Cassie and the SwimQuest team will help. There will also be time to enjoy some of La Santa’s 30+ other spirting activities on offer – enjoy some yoga, hire a bike, try some windsurfing, CrossFit, Tennis – you won’t be bored!

Cassie Patten won a Bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics in the 10km open water marathon swim – one of the most gruelling events in the sport. She is also one of the most gifted teachers in the water: patient, perceptive, and brilliant at finding the small adjustments that make the biggest difference.

Highlights

Learn from an Olympian

The week is led by Olympian Cassie Patten, who provides personalised coaching regardless of ability level including video analysis and a full breakdown of stroke efficiency. A rare chance for everyday swimmers to get elite-level feedback.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival & acclimatisation

A welcome and safety briefing will take place at 2pm on Saturday. At 4pm we'll have an acclimatisation swim in pool - a chance for you to get your feel for the water and for Cassie and the guides to take a look at your stroke and take video footage ready for your analysis
Day 2

Head and body position

Can you float? For some this comes naturally, for others this is something we have to work harder for. With a few simple tricks we can all experience the motion of floating through the water. Our head and body position sets up our entire stroke, it’s where you learn to work with the water and not against it.
Day 3

Breath

Do you find yourself out of breath as soon as you start swimming? You are not alone. It’s the number one challenge we all face, and even more advanced swimmers will be surprised how a few simple tweaks in the timing, technique and volume of your breath can control your in water experience.
