Nature and the weather can be unpredictable, so your flexibility is important. All swims are planned with safety at their heart, and your guides will adapt the plan day by day to ensure the best possible experience. Want to sit out part of a swim? Just let the guides know and hop back on the boat – no problem at all.

Sunday

Arrival and Acclimatisation

  • The boat transfers to Mathraki leave Agios Stefanos (West) at 4pm. Your guides and our local host Giorgos will meet you at the harbour and boat you across to Mathraki, ready to begin our adventure. After a warm welcome and safety briefing, we’ll head out for our acclimatisation swim in the hotel bay, the perfect way to get comfortable in the water before a well-deserved sundowner and dinner together at the hotel taverna.
Monday

Swimming out to Trachia Island

This morning, we’ll boat over to Trachia, a small island off Mathraki’s north coast said to have provided the stone for many of the island’s buildings. We’ll swim the 2.5–3.5km crossing from Kodragas to Trachia, keeping an eye out for Mathraki’s resident turtle, with the option to extend the swim with a loop around Trachia if conditions allow. After lunch back at the hotel, we’ll head out for a gentle afternoon coastal swim along the yellow-sands of paradise bay.

Tuesday

Plateia and the West Coast

We’ll start the day with a swim from Plateia Island, an islet off Mathraki’s west coast whose name means “table top” in Greek. From here we’ll swim the 2.5–3.5km back towards Mathraki’s southern coast, watching the rocks rise and fall beneath you as the sea floor shelves away into deep blue. After lunch, we’ll explore Mathraki’s dramatic west coast, with its tiny pebble beaches and striking white rocks.

Wednesday

Kravia Rock Crossing

This morning, we’ll set off on the spectacular crossing from Mathraki towards Kravia Rock – the tooth-shaped landmark visible from the hotel balconies. On a calm day, this 3km swim is one of the highlights of the week, finishing with some exploration in and around the rock’s arches and pebble micro-beaches. After a relaxing lunch, we’ll head out for a more leisurely afternoon swim along the coast.

Thursday

Kontragas and the North Coast

This morning we set off to Kontragas harbour and jump in the water ready to complete a stunning coast swim along Mathraki’s beautiful and uninhabited northern coastline, finishing at Mathraki Port – with the option to extend the swim back into the hotel bay for those with energy still in the tank! After lunch, Wednesday afternoon will be at leisure, with options for extra technique coaching, or simply time to explore the island by foot or sit with a book. This evening, we head into the village for a BBQ under the grapevines.

Friday

Corfu & the Diapolos Islands

Today, we’ll embark on an exciting full-day adventure. We’ll swim the length of Karavi’s imposing cliffs before making the 3.5km crossing towards Arillas Bay, where we’ll stop for lunch on the Corfu mainland (much to the amusement of the local holidaymakers!). In the afternoon, we’ll return to Mathraki via the Diapolos Islands – swim into caves around Diapolo and enjoy the spectacular clarity around this small island cluster.

Saturday

Saying Goodbye

On the last day, you will have breakfast at the accommodation before an early departure back to Corfu ready for onward journeys home.
