Formentera - Short Swims & Dips Itinerary
Nature and the weather can be unpredictable, so your flexibility is important. All swims are planned with safety at their heart, and your guides will adapt the plan day by day to ensure the best possible experience. Want to sit out part of a swim? Just let the guides know and hop back on the boat – no problem at all.
Arrival & acclimatisation
We’ll meet at 4pm for a mandatory safety briefing, where we’ll cover everything you need to know for a safe and enjoyable week ahead. After the briefing, we’ll head down to the nearby shallow bay for a short acclimatisation swim. This gentle session is a chance for you to get comfortable in the water and for our guides to understand your ability level, helping them tailor the experience to best support you throughout the week. We’ll then relax over a welcome dinner and have time to chat informally about the swims to come.
Settling in and secluded bays
Coastal swims at Playa de Illetes and Rocabella
This morning we will head to the award-winning carribean-white Playa de Illetes beach for a gentle coastal swim along this spectacular peninsula. After lunch, the SwimQuest guides will offer the opportunity to put new skills into practice with additional stroke technique tips, or the option to swim around Rocabella’s headland.
Heading to Es Calo for swims and picnics
After breakfast we will make our way to Es Calo on Formentera’s north side for gentle swims or a dip in these delightful turquoise bays. Enjoy a packed lunch on the beach before getting back into the minibus and heading across to Mijorn for an opportunity to stretch out and complete a slightly longer coastal swim, or – if you prefer – sit in the beach bar and watch!
Swimming to Isla des Conills and shopping at Es Mola Market
This morning we head to the north of the island to swim out and around the wonderful Isla des Conills. The water here is calm and stunningly clear – and this is a great 1km circumnavigation, with the option of simply staying in the bay if you don’t fancy a round island swim. This afternoon will be an afternoon at leisure, with the option of heading out to the popular Es Mola Market later in the evening, to buy some gifts and have dinner.
Swim to Punta Prima headland and the famous Piscinas Naturales
This is your last full day of swimming with two fabulous swims. The morning swim is a coastal swim from the hotel, across towards the Punta Prima headland, finishing at the dramatic steps below Punta Prima. With amazing visibility and protected waters, this is the perfect way to stretch out and enjoy your new swimming confidence. In the afternoon we will head out for a walk to Torre de la Gavina on Formentera’s west coast, with an option for a cool off plunge in one of the west coast’s rugged coves.
Sunrise swims and goodbyes
As this is the last day, there will be a short pre-breakfast sunrise bay swim as you will need to pack and prepare for your ferry back to Ibiza.
