Fiji Itinerary
Nature and the weather can be unpredictable, so your flexibility is important. All swims are planned with safety at their heart, and your guides will adapt the plan day by day to ensure the best possible experience. Want to sit out part of a swim? Just let the guides know and hop back on the boat – no problem at all.
Arrival & acclimatisation
Bula! Welcome to Fiji! A SwimQuest representative will meet you at Taveuni Airport and transfer you to your accommodation for the week – Paradise Taveuni. After settling into your room, we’ll give you a tour of the resort before enjoying a delicious local lunch and a comprehensive safety briefing. Following lunch, we’ll have a short acclimatisation swim in the crystal-clear bay in front of the resort. If you’d like, we can film your swimming stroke both above and below the water, allowing our SwimQuest guides to provide personalised stroke improvement tips throughout the week. In the evening, we’ll gather for sundowners and dinner, giving everyone a chance to get to know one another before our adventure begins.
Swimming over lava flows & coral reefs
Rainbow Reef & sandy beaches
This morning, we’ll set off for the renowned Rainbow Reef, one of the most famous dive sites in the South Pacific and just a scenic 30-minute boat ride from the resort. Enjoy a 3km swim along the reef edge, surrounded by a dazzling array of tropical fish and corals. After lunch on the pristine white sands of Vanua Levu, we’ll embark on a second coastal swim along the sandy beaches and bays of Levu (approximately 1.5-2km) before returning to Paradise Taveuni.
A trip to Dolphin Bay
After breakfast, we’ll travel north to Dolphin Bay. Here, you’ll swim with the currents along the reef, keeping an eye on the snapper and trevally below. We’ll return to the resort for lunch, and in the afternoon, you can choose from various activities: join the Taveuni team for a scuba dive, enjoy personalised swim coaching, try your hand at frond weaving and coconut catching, or simply relax in a hammock before our evening dinner.
Swimming waterfalls at Bouma National Park
Today promises to be an adventure as we head to Bouma National Park. We’ll hike into the rainforest, taking refreshing dips in waterfalls along the way. After lunch (out), we’ll continue through the national park to Taveuni’s swim-up waterfall, an ideal spot to cool off before we head back to the resort.
Final reef swims & a fairwell dinner
Weather permitting, we’ll return to Rainbow Reef for a drift swim, soaking in the beauty of the coral formations between Taveuni and Vanua Levu. After lunch, we’ll embark on our final swim of the week directly from the hotel jetty, exploring the resort’s beautiful house reef along the west coast. We’ll conclude the day with a farewell dinner.
