These relax and explore trips are a really relaxed adaptable format, suitable for all abilities and swim speeds. As a general rule of thumb, in order to get the most out of these weeks we would suggest you are happy swimming out of your depth and for around 400m without stopping. You can choose to swim some, or part of the swims, and can hop back on a boat if you’re tired. If you’re unsure give us a call to discuss

Not at all. If you’re keen to do part of a swim but not all of it, just let the guides know and you can get back on the boat and relax. The week is structured around your ability and the conditions.

Yes. Technique coaching is included (and optional!) Guides will film you above and below the water at the start of the week and work with you throughout to help improve your stroke.

A 30% deposit is required when booking and the final balance is due 10 weeks before you depart.

Absolutely, we will put you in touch with other swimmers via whatsapp a few weeks before the trip starts so you can share travel plans and excitement levels.

Yes – all guests must have travel insurance covering open water swimming activities. You’ll need to bring your certificate of insurance to the safety briefing. You may wish to look at Columbus Direct, which covers open water swimming within 12 miles of shore as standard.

Yes, all guests are required to bring a tow float. Whether you’ll need to wear one on any given swim is at your guides’ discretion, and will depend on a range of factors including weather conditions, visibility, and the nature of the swim itself – so you may find you wear one for some swims and not others. If you don’t already own one, you can purchase a tow float from the SwimQuest online shop.

Yes! Non swimmers are very welcome on this trip. We offer non swimmers a 10% discount on the trip price, and they can join us on boats and swim / dip as much or as little as they wish.

If you’re at all unsure about the water temperature, we’d recommend packing one just in case. The beauty of bringing a wetsuit is the flexibility it gives you; you can choose to wear it for some swims and go without for others, depending on how you’re feeling on the day.
If you do decide to bring one, try to get a few practice swims in before you arrive. You’ll want to make sure it fits well and feels comfortable.
