Nicola began to take a shine to open water swimming, masters swimming events and endurance sports after a swimming nationally in the pool for many years. Alongside successful employment in sport, higher education studies and additional industry qualifications, Nicola started swimming more seriously in open water through swimruns. As a result, Nicola entered her first UK Aquathlon and placed 1st. From there she qualified for the British Triathlon GB Age group team, won her first bronze medal for GB in age group at the European championships in Romania and now continues to qualify for each upcoming European\World championships.

Nicola’s business – Peak Open Water Sports – is the first Open Water Swimming and Sports provider covering the East Coast of England. Leading from a range of venues to across Norfolk and Suffolk, Nicola’s team work in partnership with NOWCA to provide a safe, inclusive, open water and social swim community across a variety of well-established venues. These venues include exclusive lakes, rivers and the sea, where each swimmer can learn and enjoy a range of different environments under the supervision of qualified lifeguards and award-winning coaches. Peak Open Water Sports welcomes all levels of ability (including juniors 8+) by providing safe supervision for beginners, right through to advanced open water enthusiasts, who can come along and experience the benefits of open water swimming.

I decided to finally start my own business in October 2020. I wanted to find that work life balance again, utilise my experience and knowledge and be able to do something that I love everyday – help others realise their potential and generate results! I now regularly coach swimmers of all abilities in a range of locations throughout Norfolk and Suffolk including Fritton Lake, Lowestoft Beach, The Broads and Lido’s alongside some international travel/coaching with SwimQuest Holidays.
