Growing up by the coast in Norfolk, and a competitive swimmer from the age of 9, it is perhaps not surprising that Leah found a love for open water early on.

Leah works as a Beach Lifeguard on the Norfolk coast during the summer months – and is also a swim teacher. Alongside continuing to compete at a regional level.

Having lived by the coast for as long as I can remember, swimming as a whole has played a fundamental role in my life. In my opinion swimming has to be the best activity someone can involve themself in, from the physical and mental benefits, to the social aspects. My love for open water swimming has done nothing but grow over the last few years. For me this is the reason I decided to become a swim guide, not only to anable other to achieve goals and aspirations but share my passion and love for open water swimming with others. To this day people say they see a smile on my face when I’m swimming… I’m quite literally in my happy place.
