WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF YOUR ROLE?
Swimming and travel are my two of my favourite things. Every day I get to chat to people about the joy of a swim holiday – doing something you love, whilst travelling the world and meeting like minded people.
YOU SWIM GUIDE AS WELL AS LOOKING AFTER BOOKINGS! WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BE A SWIM GUIDE?
I wanted to be a swim guide to share my passion and love of the open water. For me swimming is a time to reset, an escape, a chance to explore and peer until the underwater world. I’m fascinated by the power of water and as a guide I can help people experience this and facilitate life changing feelings.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE SWIM?
My most memorable swim was the first time I saw a turtle chilling on a reef in the Maldives. I felt like an extra in the movie ‘Finding Nemo’. It was an incredible experience.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?
My proudest achievement is completing ‘The ROC Trilogy’ a series of three triathlons that took in the highest peaks of England, Scotland and Wales.
WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OPEN WATER?
For me Open water is my happy place. It’s where I go to relax. Once my head is in the water I love to listen to the bubbles, feel the silky smooth water and see the greens and blue. My local lake is my favourite place to do this.
WHICH SWIMQUEST LOCATIONS HAVE YOU GUIDED? WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT THEM?
I’ve guided Maldives, Annecy, Formentera, Egypt and Scotland. I stole this from a guest but SwimQuest holidays are like children – each one you love and think you couldn’t love another more but every new location you find something new to love.
WHAT ARE YOUR SWIM PLANS / GOALS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR?
This year I need to get back to training in the pool to add a bit of speed. There is some friendly competitveness between my mates and I, if I can’t beat them on the bike and run I need to hold my own in the swim!
