THE SWIMMING ITINERARYN.B. There are two planned swims per day based on how you progress during the week. Please realise that what we have detailed below is only a rough guide to the week and that we will adapt the week carefully for each individual and the prevailing weather. All swim activities are planned with safety as the paramount concern. Open water swimming is always governed by tides and weather; so planned swims may need to be changed, depending on the weather conditions at the time. Swim guides will advise you each day on what is best for you, but in all cases guides will encourage you to achieve your personal goals in safe conditions.
Saturday – Acclimatisation Swim: approx. 300mWe will all meet at the reception at The Village, Coconut Island as a group for the mandatory safety briefing and acclimatisation swim. This swim is a short swim that gives the guides an idea of your stroke and pace. After the swim, we can relax and have dinner at the hotel, where we will discuss the week ahead. (Should guests have any unforeseen delays, we may defer the acclimatisation swim to the following morning).
Sunday – Swim Distances: approx. 2kmThe day is designed to ease you into your week of swimming. We will complete two coastal swims around the shoreline of Coconut Island. There may also be an opportunity to walk back to lunch at The Village through the forest. In the afternoon we will complete a second coastal swim finishing on the beach by The Village resort. We will then have time to relax prior to dinner at the hotel.
Monday – Swim Distances: 1.5-2km & 2-2.5kmThis morning we make our first crossing to the neighbouring island of Ko Rang Yai. The island has a pearl farm, wonderful beach and restaurant for the group to break for lunch. After lunch we will continue to swim around the island, before heading back to The Village for some relaxation prior to dinner.
Tuesday – Swim Distances: 2.5km & 2.5-3kmToday we set off in the escort boats and head north to swim from Ko Nakha Noi to Ko Nakha Yai. With amazing views of Cape Ao Po and Po Bay to the left we arrive at a stunning beach to the south of the Island. After lunch we can either swim up the beach or continue with another island swim to Ko Raet Island prior to heading back to The Village.
Wednesday – Swim Distances 3-4km & 1-2km
Thursday – ThanyaPura sports resortToday we will get a taxi boat over to Phuket and drive into Phuket’s mountains to visit Ironman World Champion, Chris McCormack’s world famous Thanyapura Sports complex. We will hire our own lane in the stunning 50m pool to work on swim technique and drills, or if you prefer, you can kick back and enjoy the resort.
Friday - Swim Distance: 300-400m
